A Blue Dragon is though to have specific traits and features. They are social creatures but very independent and have difficulty accepting help from others. The belief is that they are extremely generous and will share with friends and they are always willing to help those in need. Unique creativity is another trait that is believed to be passed on to anyone that is born under the Dragon sign. They don't like rules and prefer to make up their own guidelines. These free spirits are, also, thought to be extroverts and very ambitious.
The Chinese zodiac contains twelve animal symbols. These symbols all carry different traits that are supposed to influence those born under that symbol. Certain symbols are thought to be compatible with others. The Dragon is compatible with Monkey and Rat.
Blue Dragon is associated with the element of water. Some references to the animal even call it Water Dragon. Water carries intuition and communication skills. The Chinese zodiac runs a sixty year rotation where the animal signs are paired with one of the five elements and then it rotates to a different pair. Coming up in 2012 is the next year of the Dragon. It will have been exactly sixty years since the last occurrence.
